Yo! Pick up XXL Magazine at your local rack, today JUNE 24

I did a shoot last month for XXL Magazine out of New York. The shoot was in Willmar - yes, 100 miles west of Minneapolis forming a perfect triangle with Mpls and St. Cloud to the north - Willmar. One of those towns you leave to go somewhere else.

That was last month in Willmar, where a hip hop club - in Willmar - booked Freeway and his crew of 6 out of Philadelphia, flew them out here, picked them up in a limo at the airport and had them play a concert at $40 adv/$45 at the door in a Minnesota town of about 50K max.

There were about 40 people in the audience, the venue looked like the floor of a converted machine parts facility in an industrial park.

Was there some kind of insurance payout on this gig? As Mike D said, let the pictures tell the story. On news stands today

Presenting my work has been a challenge. Aside from being disabled in the department of clean presentation, I've had the displeasure of not having my work critiqued properly for far too long.

Things are looking up. tobinrussell.com is looking like, still all over the place, but actually might have some consistency. I'd welcome any feedback from you if you feel compelled to share.

The XXL shoot in Willmar, MN comes out on news stands on June 24. I can post those shots then. Also ready to be posted are shots from a major day in the studio with The DA. A local 7 guy hip hop outfit out of Golden Valley. The DA are....circulating around the metro is all I can say. Check them and Nerve out on MySpace if you like.

Evacuating Uptown Minneapolis apartment for a closer apartment to my studio (within walking distance of the crib) has been consuming all my time. Boxes still aren't unpacked - but they got in the new place since May 31. Sorry Uptown. I'll be missing the Uptown art fair.

There has been work on EXS - the secret 4x5 film art shoot I am working on. But all'n'all the studio has been quiet and/or dedicated to the Creditland launch. That's the news and I am out of here.
